Unofficial Bootlegs

The 'releases' on this page have either been sold privately at conventions/fairs or distributed for free (or at cost) among fans and collectors. For a recording to appear below, it must either have been sold for profit or distributed extensively for free without a change of format, ie the same tracks in the same order, even if track titles may have changed. None of the compilations below were prepared by the composers, or with the consent of the copyright holders, and are therefore illegal products... but fascinating to collectors like us!

Selling copyrighted material for profit is a crime and TME does not support the sale of bootlegs.

Quite clearly a late 90s rip-off of the Corridors of Eternity cassette, previously distributed exclusively to members of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society. This cassette - like its partner releases Black Light, Space Adventures, Myth Makers and Timeflight - was dubbed onto rather poor quality tape, and the tell-tale signs of that distortion can be heard clearly on this CD-R. Mind you, the original cassette is extremely hard to come by these days, and this compilation shouldn't be frowned upon too badly - Paddy Kingsland's Doctor Who scores are well worth hearing, even if they have been packaged in a very nasty sleeve.

Another straight from tape bootleg, this time repackaging (and retitling) Black Light - The Doctor Who Music of Dominic Glynn, the DWAS cassette which also included Glynn's score for Dragonfire (this appears on a separate bootleg by the same designer/producer - see below). Once again the DWAS' tape distortion is in evidence, and several tracks have been broken up to more closely represent their original television cues.

Although the Dragonfire material has clearly been pinched from the 1988 DWAS cassette, the Time and the Rani material is a little harder to trace. It is known that both Keff McCulloch and Dominic Glynn freely posted cassette copies of their Doctor Who work to enquiring fans, and it is likely that McCulloch simply made a private dubbing of his Rani score, which later recieved widespread distribution. Similar bootlegs were created using privately dubbed copies of McCulloch's Paradise Towers, and Glynn's Happiness Patrol.

Dimensions In Time main title

The Happiness Patrol was .php onto cassette by Dominic Glynn at the request of a fan, and included various 'source music' cues, such as Earl Sigma's harmonica playing and the corridor and lift 'musak'. This score has found its way into the hands of many fans, each of whom retitles the music for themselves - the track titles on this CD-R are representative only of the distributor, as the original tape bore no titles. It is usually distributed singly, however - this CD-R is slightly rarer, including several cues from Glynn's final Doctor Who commission, Survival. Their source is unknown, though it is probable that they were sent out on a similarly private cassette, possibly during Glynn's composition of the serial.
