Library Music Chronology

Since every piece of stock music featured in Doctor Who came from a vinyl or tape of some description, every single record is (theoretically) obtainable by the dedicated collector. Library LPs that have fallen out of use can often be found on eBay or at collector's fairs, and so, for the sake of completeness, every record is listed in the chronologically-arranged list below. The tracks that have been made commercially available on compilations (Doctor Who-related or otherwise) are highlighted; alternatively you can jump straight to the commercial discography here.

Please note that the majority of this information comes from the BBC's PasB paperwork as presented at BBCi - any errata or ommissions have been ammended where noticed, but there are almost certainly inconsistencies and errors remaining. Any comments or corrections would be much appreciated!

The Macra Terror
The track Musak (from "Time in Advance") by BBC Radiophonic Workshop composer John Baker was included on Doctor Who at the Radiophonic Workshop - Volume 1, credited to an appearance in The Macra Terror. The production paperwork does not refer to it, simply listing Dudley Simpson's specially-composed incidentals.

The 1998 CD version of Space Adventures included a track presumed to be Youngbeat, credited to Jack Trombey; it was only after the CDs were pressed and distributed that the producers realised that either they, or the original PasB paperwork, had been mistaken.
